Looking to work on your acting skills, meet new people and just get out and “play”?

Workshop Theatre’s Actor’s Workshop might be just the thing for you. We’ll practice warmup techniques, improv games, and scripted scene work.

Each term will end with showcase performances that will include feedback from the audience and members of Workshop Theatre.

Under the direction and guidance of AJ Pearce, individuals will be able to come and experience a whole different side to theatre!

AJ Pearce has been involved in theatre for almost 30 years. Born in Newfoundland, AJ started performing in high school and went on to study theatre at university. He received a Masters Degree in Cultural and Arts Management from the University of Winchester and a teaching certificate from Oxford Brookes University in the UK. After 11 years in England, AJ returned to Calgary and began working with Workshop; acting in “A Murder is Announced” and then directing “Dracula”. AJ began facilitating the Actor’s Studio in 2022 which also lead to a successful production of “The Blue Room”. AJ is especially proud of his play “Wrestling with Andy Kaufman”, co-created by and co-starring Safia Elder, which won both the Calgary Regional and Alberta Provincial One Act Festivals in 2023. AJ is a stay at home dad to three beautiful children and is supported by his fabulous wife Sarah. AJ is so excited to be continuing the Actor’s Studio and helping local actors to hone their craft and reach their full potential on stage.
